Lützow is the No. 1 ship of the Deutschland-class armored ship, formerly known as Deutschland, with a standard displacement of 11,700 tons, a full-load displacement of 16,200 tons, a main engine power of 57,000 horsepower, and a maximum speed of 26 knots. 8 guns of 150 mm caliber, 6 guns of 105 mm caliber, 28 guns of 40 mm caliber and 8 tubes of 533 mm torpedo tubes.
The Lützow has excellent seakeeping. The hull is stable when sailing, but the rudder effect is not high, and the rudder response is relatively slow. When the rudder is turned, the speed will be lost by 65%, and the hull can be tilted up to 11°. The metacentric height of the ship is 2.6 meters, the maximum stability angle is 34°, and the instability angle is 74°
